Maya K.
Senior Full-Stack Developer
Revelo bills one all-in monthly rate per Latin American developer. Reported 2026 quotes run $7,200 to $10,750 a month for a senior engineer, and Revelo puts a senior full-stack hire at $111,000 to $128,000 a year. A refundable deposit of one month is reported, and a buyout starts at six monthly invoices.
Below, the bands become a year-one budget, we check Revelo's own savings calculator against BLS payroll data, and we price the conversion fee and the hours you share with a US team.

The trial, the month-to-month terms and the $111,000 to $128,000 senior figure come from Revelo's own pages. Monthly bands, the deposit and the buyout terms are what reviewers report. US payroll is BLS. Where Revelo is the better buy, we say so.
What one seat costs
Revelo does not print a rate card. It quotes per role, stack and seniority, and the invoice already includes the developer's salary, local benefits, payroll, compliance, hardware and Revelo's service. The bands below are what 2026 reviews report, with the hourly figure worked out at 173.33 hours a month.
$56k to $67k
junior, per year
$86k to $129k
senior engineer, per year
$143k to $204k
senior AI or ML, per year
Other 2026 write-ups quote $50 to $70 an hour, or $8,000 to $12,000 a month for senior placements. They overlap the senior band above, so we use it as the working range.
Cash before the first sprint
Revelo advertises a 14-day trial in which you pay only if you are happy with the developer, then month-to-month billing with no long-term contract and no cancellation penalty. Those parts are on Revelo's own pricing page.
The deposit is not. Reviewers describe a refundable deposit equal to one month of the engineer's payment, credited against a later invoice. For a senior engineer that is $7,200 to $10,750 of working capital tied up before the trial ends. One review also mentions a $500 start fee and another says there is no fee to browse and interview, so ask for both lines in writing.
One senior engineer at $9,250 a month, first 90 days
| Network | Trial | Money up front | Contract |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revelo | 14 days, pay if happy | One month deposit, reported | Month to month |
| Proxify | About a week | None reported, 40-hr monthly minimum | Notice set per agreement |
| Andela | 15 business days, paid | None reported | 30 days notice |
| Toptal | Up to 2 weeks | $500 deposit + $79/mo, reported | No minimum |
Where Revelo earns its price
Revelo's network is entirely Latin American, and that is the strongest part of its pitch. A developer in Bogota keeps US Eastern time in winter, Mexico City matches Chicago in winter and runs an hour behind it in summer, and Sao Paulo runs one to two hours ahead of New York.
On a plain 9-to-5 local day, that gives an East Coast team six to eight shared hours, against about two with a developer in Central Europe. For a team that runs live standups, pairing and same-day code review, this is worth paying for.
| Developer in | US Eastern, winter | US Eastern, summer | US Pacific, winter | US Pacific, summer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bogota | 8 hrs | 7 hrs | 5 hrs | 6 hrs |
| Mexico City | 7 hrs | 6 hrs | 6 hrs | 7 hrs |
| Sao Paulo | 6 hrs | 7 hrs | 3 hrs | 4 hrs |
| Central Europe, for contrast | 2 hrs | 2 hrs | 0 hrs | 0 hrs |
Shared hours between a developer working 9 to 5 local time and a US team working 9 to 5. Colombia, Mexico and Brazil do not observe daylight saving time, so the overlap shifts by an hour when the US changes clocks.

The question finance will ask
Revelo's pricing page promises 30 to 50% savings against a US hire, and its calculator builds the US side from payroll taxes of 8.65%, health insurance of $7,800, a 4% 401(k) match, 12% equity, a 20% recruiting fee and $4,200 of other benefits. We ran those assumptions on the BLS May 2025 median for US software developers, $135,980.
The result is $208,695 in year one. The catch is the recruiting fee: you pay it once, not every year. Drop it and year two costs $181,499. The BLS employer-cost ratio of 1.43 gives a middle figure of $194,451.
Against any of the three, a senior Revelo engineer is clearly cheaper. The claim holds. It is just strongest in the year you would have paid a recruiter.
| US developer, loaded | Per year | Revelo $111,000 | Revelo $128,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revelo's assumptions, year one | $208,695 | 0.53x, saves 47% | 0.61x, saves 39% |
| BLS ratio 1.43 | $194,451 | 0.57x, saves 43% | 0.66x, saves 34% |
| Revelo's assumptions, year two | $181,499 | 0.61x, saves 39% | 0.71x, saves 29% |
What Revelo's own pages imply it keeps
15% to 27%
Revelo lists a senior all-in employer cost of about $94,000 and a price of $111,000 to $128,000. The $17,000 to $34,000 gap pays for vetting, hardware and its margin.
Our plan on a $9,250 month
3.8%
$349 a month for the post, paid by you, with the developer paid directly. That is $2.01 an hour at full time.
The two Revelo figures come from different pages and may not share a basis, so read the 15% to 27% as a range to test, not a disclosed margin.
If the developer is a keeper
Revelo's terms, as quoted by reviewers, set the fee to move a developer onto your own team at six times the monthly invoice, falling every three months, with a floor of $10,000. Other comparisons cite about $40,000 as a starting point. Revelo's pricing page does not mention either.
Six invoices is a lot next to what a recruiter charges. If there is any chance you will want to hire the person yourself, negotiate the schedule before the trial starts, while you still have leverage.
Starting buyout at six invoices, against a recruiter
| Route | Fee to hire the developer yourself |
|---|---|
| Revelo | Six monthly invoices, stepping down, $10,000 floor, reported |
| Andela | $50,000 in year one |
| Lemon.io | $20,000 |
| Arc.dev | About 25% of first-year salary |
| SuperGig Business | $0 |
Side by side
| Route | Senior rate, reported | Overlap with US Eastern | Up front | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelo | $7,200 to $10,750/mo | 6 to 8 hrs | One month deposit | Full-time LatAm hires on US hours, payroll handled |
| BairesDev | $50 to $99/hr, Clutch | 6 to 8 hrs | $50,000 project minimum, reported | Whole teams with delivery management |
| Proxify | $35 to $55/hr | About 2 hrs | 40 hrs a month minimum | Async part-time work at a low rate |
| Andela | $35 to $100+/hr | Varies by region | Paid trial, 30 days notice | Long global seats |
| SuperGig Business | Agreed with the developer | You choose | $349/mo for the post | 1 to 2 developers you keep, no buyout |
Against BairesDev
Same region, different product. BairesDev sells managed teams. See BairesDev pricing for its hourly bands and minimum.
Against Proxify
Proxify is cheaper per hour but mostly on European time. Proxify pricing shows its 40-hour floor and overlap.
Against Andela
Both convert at a high price. Andela pricing sets its $50,000 fee against a recruiter fee.
Fair is fair
A direct hire on our Business plan costs $349 a month for the post. You pay the developer directly, so the flat plan only needs the developer to cost $2.01 an hour less than a Revelo seat at full time to come out ahead.

Questions
Revelo quotes one all-in monthly rate per developer. 2026 reports put junior developers at about $4,700 to $5,600 a month and senior full-stack, backend or DevOps engineers at $7,200 to $10,750 a month. Revelo itself says a senior full-stack engineer with 6+ years costs $111,000 to $128,000 a year through Revelo.
You pay Revelo a single monthly invoice per developer. That rate covers the salary, local benefits, payroll, compliance, hardware and Revelo's service. Engagements are month to month with no long-term contract. Reports describe a refundable deposit of one month's payment, credited against a later invoice.
Revelo says there are no hidden fees and that the rate it quotes is what you pay. Its margin sits inside that rate rather than on a separate line. Some reviews mention a non-refundable start fee of about $500 and others say there is none, so confirm it on your quote along with the deposit.
Yes. Revelo advertises a 14-day trial in which you pay only if you are happy with the developer. After the trial, billing continues month to month and you can cancel without a penalty. Check the notice period and the billing cutoff in your agreement, since Revelo does not publish them.
Yes, with a conversion fee. Revelo's terms, as quoted by reviewers, set it at six times the monthly invoice, falling every three months, with a $10,000 minimum. For a senior engineer at $9,250 a month that starts at $55,500. Other comparisons cite about $40,000, so get the schedule in writing.
Yes. A senior Revelo engineer at $111,000 to $128,000 a year is 0.57x to 0.66x the $194,451 a US median software developer costs with benefits and payroll taxes. That matches Revelo's claim of 30 to 50% savings in year one. In year two, once a US recruiting fee drops out, the gap narrows.
Post the role once and get a shortlist of three vetted developers in the time zone you choose. Agree the rate and pay them directly. $349 a month for the post, no project fee and no fee if you later hire them.
Business is $349 per month, or $174 per month billed yearly (50% off), for a project post on the SuperGig project board, with no project fee.
