Refund Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
The short version: a SuperGig subscription fee, once charged, stays charged. There are three narrow situations where we send money back, and they are listed in section 4. Everything else on this page explains how billing works so that nothing about a charge comes as a surprise.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the Business and Enterprise subscriptions you pay to SuperGig. It does not cover the rate you agree with a freelancer. That money is between you and the freelancer, and where a milestone is disputed it is handled under the dispute rules in our Terms of Service, not here.
2. Subscription fees are final
Business and Enterprise are recurring subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. What you buy is a period of access: your project post on the SuperGig board, the applications forwarded to your inbox and the controls of your plan. That access is switched on in full on the first day of each period, so the fee is earned when the period starts, whether you hire someone that month or not.
The matching demo on the homepage shows how a shortlist looks before you spend anything, and the pricing page lists exactly what each plan includes. When you subscribe, you ask us to start the service straight away, and you accept that any statutory cooling-off or withdrawal period ends once the service has started.
3. Situations that do not lead to a refund
- You filled the role elsewhere, paused hiring or changed your plans.
- Your post received fewer applications than you hoped, or none you wanted to hire.
- You did not log in, post or review applicants during a paid period.
- A renewal went through because you did not cancel before the renewal date, or you cancelled a few minutes after it.
- A renewal was collected on a later retry after the first attempt failed (see section 6).
- You thought the plan was a one-time payment. Every plan renews, and the checkout, the confirmation email and your account all say so.
- You picked Enterprise when Business would have been enough, or a yearly term when you wanted monthly.
- A feature you expected is not one the pricing page describes.
- The unused part of a period after you cancel. Access lasts until the period ends and is not pro-rated.
- Someone else used your account, including a colleague you gave your login to.
4. The three exceptions
We return a subscription payment only in the cases below, only when our records support it, and only up to the charge in question.
- A double charge. Our billing took the same period twice because of a fault on our side.
- A charge you never authorised. Your card was used without your permission, you tell us within 14 days, and the transaction records confirm it. Saying so is not enough on its own; the records decide. We may ask you to confirm that you reported the card misuse to your bank.
- The service did not work at all. A confirmed fault on our side made SuperGig completely unusable for a continuous stretch, you reported it while it was happening, and we could not fix it. Slow pages, a single broken feature or trouble with your own device or network do not count.
An approved refund never exceeds what you paid for the affected period, goes back to the card that was charged, and is the full extent of our liability for that charge. One refund does not create a right to another.
5. How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address on your account within 14 days of the charge. Give the date and amount of the charge and say which of the three exceptions applies. Requests sent later, or from another address, are not reviewed. We answer in the order requests arrive and do not reopen a request once it has been decided.
Please talk to us before you talk to your bank. Opening a chargeback without contacting us first breaks our Terms of Service and leads to the permanent closure of your account.
6. Cancelling, renewals and retries
You can cancel from the billing page of your account at any time, without writing to anyone. Cancelling switches off every future renewal from that moment, and your post stays live until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling is not a refund request.
A subscription renews on its own until it is cancelled. When a new period starts, access for that whole period is granted and its fee becomes due. If your card declines, the fee is still owed and our payment operator tries again over the following days. Those retries collect the one invoice that is already open; they are not extra charges. Cancelling during the retries stops the renewals after it but does not cancel the invoice for the period that has begun, and once that invoice is paid you keep access to the end of the period. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the date shown in your account.
7. What we keep on record
Before you pay, the checkout shows the plan, price, billing period and the fact that it renews, and the same details appear in your confirmation email and on your billing page. By creating an account you accept our Terms of Service, which include this policy and our Privacy Policy.
For every subscription we keep the time of purchase, the plan and price shown at checkout, your acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent you, renewal notices and a log of account activity such as sign-ins, posts created or edited and applications viewed. Our payment operator keeps its own record of each transaction, including where the card was issued, where the payment came from and the outcome of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. These are the records we check a claim against, and the records we give your bank if a chargeback is opened.
8. Earlier purchases
A subscription bought before October 14, 2026 stays under the terms that applied on the day it was bought, until its current period ends.
